Some more unedited studio work from the senior project. Linen stretched over board - fun stuff to work with!
-
Here are some cows (didn’t make the senior show cut, but I thought I would share with tumblr).
-
More senior project studio studies. :D A couple of ‘master copy’ sketches and a sketch of a cow in a field (with an almost inexplicable orange border)

chocolatelazerboom: I’m bad at the replying thing, but regarding your comment about the Peabody hand: Thanks! And it’s all one flat painting, but yeah, especially from the angle this photo was taken from, it does look like it’s popping out. It surprised me with how much it did, actually. :D

Another detail from the Peabody mural that I finished up (?) yesterday. I love painting hands. Actually.
-
Some more oil painting studies :) Off to the studio this morning to more painitng…
-
One of the mostly finished faces from the audience in the (mostly finished?) Peabody mural I’m working on. Still have a lot to do, but it’s coming along!

Museum artist Stephen C. Quinn paints a mural for a new exhibition opening this fall. Quinn has worked on dioramas here at the American Museum of Natural History for nearly 40 years.

Just some oil painting/studies I’ve been doing for my senior project. The top two are oil on paper, vague master copies of two paintings (whose titles and artist are slipping my mind right now. Ouch), and the bottom is an original, sketchy study on unstretched canvas. More to come…
